1. Wed., Dec. 21 is our Annual HERITAGE DAY. Please join us starting at 8:30 am. Students and staff will have presentations pertaining to their heritages. Families are asked to bring food related to their heritage. Students will be free to go after clean-up (around noon).
2. Some students and teachers are participating in SECRET SANTA next week. There is a sign-up sheet outside the office for those who wish to participate. Names will be chosen tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 16. The “gifting” will happen Mon., 12/19 – Wed., 12/21. Money does not need to be involved…opt for kind words and deeds, handmade gifts, etc. The Secret Santas will be revealed at the end of the Heritage Day program. Ms. Sue’s American History class is doing their own, but some of these students are also participating in the school wide exchange.
3. The long awaited WIND TURBINE PROJECT construction is under way. Thank you for your cooperation in changing the traffic flow. Entrance and exit remain the same, but drop-off and pick-up is now on the south side of the buildings. The old arrangement will resume when construction is completed.
4. PSAT scores are in and your student has had a conference with Ms. Janie to go over results. If you haven’t seen the results yet, ask your son or daughter for them. (10th and 11th grades)
5. 11th and 12th graders earned COMMUNITY SERVICE points at the Palms of Pelican Cove last Friday when they helped sort toys collected for TOYS FOR TOTS. Look for ways to do Community Service during Holiday time.
6. HELP! Our 2nd ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT is scheduled for Sat., January 28. We need you to invite friends and family to donate money$$$$$$. Go to our website: www.kingshillschool.org for information. Have you picked up a copy of St. Croix This Week? Check out page 37!
7. AFTERSCHOOL PEER TUTORING is in place from 2:30 – 4:30. Students are available Monday – Friday to assist other students with homework or areas of difficulty. Please contact the office if your student needs this extra help
8. Nehemiah Lloyd will be performing in The Color Purple in February. Break a leg!
9. The Marine Science class is teaming with Cane Bay Dive Shop. Their 2nd SNORKEL day (seas permitting) is Monday, Dec. 19. Every effort is being made to have students back at school by 2:15. Please be patient and plan accordingly.
RULE REMINDERS
10. NOTICE FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS: All visitors to school MUST report to the office. This includes lunch deliveries, etc.
11. Parents please help us by reminding your student that NO ELECTRONIC GAMES are allowed at school. Phones & IPods may be used before 8 am and after 2:15 pm ONLY!
